Three years ago Washington, D.C. was as the very forefront of civic tech, blazing a trail of apps, open data, and open government that other cities were following. This was innovation by the people of D.C. for the people of D.C. with effects that rippled throughout the country.

In this interactive session -part presentation and part un-conference - Kevin Curry will introduce you to Code for America and their civic engagement program called "Brigade" that builds off of this foundation. You're invited to contribute your thoughts about what should go into a strategic plan for rebooting civic tech by and for the people of D.C.

You don't have to be a coder to participate! Code for America loves designers, story tellers, gov experts.. all are welcome. If you care about the intersection of the Internet and civil society as it applies to Washington, D.C. then you should come to this session.

Show your support by tweeting: ""I want to Code for D.C.! #DCWEEK""

Moderated by Kevin Curry, Program Director, Code for America Brigade
